Application: BP 5 PVC J-type bead with waterstop is a profile suitable for finishes with the use of plasterboard. It is used (just like as BP5 bead without waterstop) for „closing” the edge of the plasterboard wherever a plasterboard edge cut with a knife remains visible. Particular use of the J-type bead is found at the plasterboard-window frame connection. J-type bead on the one hand masks the uneven edge of the board, on the other acts as an expansion joint – thanks to the foamy waterstop used. We have different widths of J-type profiles suitable for plasterboard thicknesses currently on the market. The blue protective film ensures that the bead remains clean and free of scratches until the end of construction. The protective film also eliminates any damage during storage and transport.

Assembly: J-type beads must be installed during installation of plasterboard, this is due to the fact that the J-type bead is permanently installed on the pasteboard before the plasterboard is mounted on structural steel profiles. The assembly is done by cutting off (with a sharp knife, saw) of the suitable section of the J-type bead and sliding the plasterboard inside the bead. Then, push the plasterboard towards the window frame, tighten the plasterboard to the profiles and remove the yellow protective film from the expansion foam – leaving a few-centimeter sections of the yellow cover on the outside !!!
The J-type bead can be left unpainted or can be painted, for example with a typical acrylic paint for interior applications.
